A spectacular display of UFO sightings hit the U.S. this Fourth of July weekend, with many reporting multiple objects in the skies and similar colors, according to witness testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) database.
Orange, flaming, or red objects were seen over Michigan, Illinois, Nevada, and Kansas. A round red/orange object was seen over Washington. A fireball was spotted over Ohio. Two glowing orange objects were seen over Connecticut. Five red lights were reported over California. A red, spherical and flashing object was seen over Washington. And a flashing red light was reported over the Larchmont, New York area.
This is an interesting development, since we've recently been discussing intelligent, glowing orbs.
Actually, a friend and myself BOTH saw one on the 4th as well! I reported it to MUFON too.
It was over Algonac Michigan during the fireworks. We were both surprised by it and cannot explain it.
We didn't talk about the fireworks!
It was a large bright white ball that hovered for about 30 seconds and then made zig-zag movements before flying up and away.
We saw it for a good minute.
The top one is mine.
Will do, nearing. How exciting! OOPS. That link just went to the blank reporting page.
Ugh, I guess you have to search yourself or here, I will copy and paste:
Long Description of Sighting Report Both myself and another person saw the bright white sphere hovering above area of fireworks. It hung in one place for 30 secs and then moved across sky away from that place at a speed a little faster than a satellite moves. Then it moved bavk toward original area momentsrily and back and forth like this 4 or 5 times before shooting off skyward and away.
It was a little brighter than a background star above it but larger in diameter.
My initial momentary thought was that it was asatellite but then it maneuvered and I knew it wasn't.
We both were watching the object and in awe. Needless to say, the fireworks themselves held iftle fascination after that.
Perhaps all these ufos are illustrating the Charge of the Light Brigade. silly.
With helium balloons you are supposed to tie the string to the kids wrist so they don't lose it and have it float away.
About 10pm My family and I were diving from a fireworks show(7/04/09) in Henderson NV. The sunroof was open and there it was. It was a slow moving ball of what appered to be fire or a auburn light. It was traveling from southwest to northeast. It was about a 30 second viewing. Amazing!!
The number of sightings is getting ridiculous actually:-) Were you able to get a photo? How fast was it travelling? Did it do any acrobatics? Did you report it to MUFON? Exciting.
Ugh. A day when everyone is looking skyward and video cameras are ubiquitous...more crappy video. This does more to disprove aliens than anything.
LOL, James. They do seem difficult to get a clear photo of, don't they? Most of them just look like, so what in the photos, even when the people who saw them are freaked out completely. I guess with ufos, you just have to be there.
So they like our fireworks shows too?
That's what I was thinking, Louie, or maybe they're celebrating freedom too.
I saw some moving orbs, reddish orange that moved around in the sky a bit and then disappeared on the Fourth. They were some sort blimp supported firework display of sorts that people launch over lakes.
Yes, blimp supported fireworks could explain some of the sightings, alight.
Could they be...fireworks?
Seriously though, any UFO sighting these days that doesn't have a photo is a hoax. Everyone has cell phone cameras, if 10 states had UFO's over them someone would have snapped a picture. The video is bogus...
Unfortunately, many cellphone cameras will not capture the light from these objects. It's unusual that someone gets a clear photo. I do agree, however, that many of these may have been fireworks of the type Louie mentioned above. Still, a glass globe that has fire in it? I think I'd be puzzled if I saw one of those fly by.
What I saw certainly wasn't a firework.
It lasted at least a minute and maneuvered and hovered, then maneuvered.
While we were watching it, 3 or 4 fireworks went off. Plus, the other person who saw it with me is extremely skeptical of ANYTHING strange. He agreed with me that it was not something he had ever seen before and could not explain it.
The video is bogus...
Did I miss something? Where is there a video?
I didn't see a video on the linked site either, nearing. I'm not sure what that comment is referring to.
Form post? spam?
Maybe he/she leaves it on all the UFO threads.
LOL.
Hey, so MUFON wanted more info so I called them. They are going to be sending an investigator to talk to us.
There's a link from Harbert Michigan under the editor's note.
Great, nearing, that will be fun for you, and you could find out more info about some of the other cases, maybe.
Thanks, James, I shall go have a look.
Interesting video, parts of it are better than others. Towards the end you can see the orange-red colour quite clearly.
i have a video or 2 if anyone is interested email me @ hollys1mom@yahoo.com
Saw them in canada too, july 4th grand bend ontario on the beach really clear night, 4 more witnesses. Two of them, bright orange, didnt appear at the same time, one appeared going upwards at a 45 degree angle, before leveling out and dimming until you couldnt see it anymore. Then 45 minutes to an hour later, same thing ,same flight path before it dimmed and was gone. Just learning now that this happened all over the place, we thought we were just hammered and seeing things lol.
report them to MUFON.
red spheres, orange balls (stop laughing)...green clovers, yellow moons, oramnge stars, pink eyes, er...pink hearts and, ugh...ugh, oh yea, big hairy (flying) ass-holes, thats it...
i am just kidding...there were no red spheres reported !!!
luv,
ron
p.s. oh crap, i just realized what i wrote...i am not calling anyone a big, hairy (flying...or otherewise) ass-hole...oh, please, i'm sorry...oh, i am sooooo sorry !!!
I saw a bright white sphere over eau claire wisconsin about 11 at night and it moved slowly and made no sound moving west to east on July 4th 2009. So people in wisconsin saw it too.
